Frenemies?

Tues was a nice busy day,I love the fact that now I am living back home the dogs are busy ALL day long.
I had already groomed 3 little dogs in the morning, then in the afternoon 2 GSD's Blade and Delta came for their hair do's.
I've known both blade and Delta since they were real babies, and their mum's previous lovely bitch 'Sheba',before them too.
My lot except from Mindy have spent a good deal of time with these 2 around shows,so I mix them when I groom them.
Mindy hadn't but today she did,and she was brilliant! She is really benefiting from living here, and getting to mix with all the dogs I groom, day in and day out.instead of meeting a few week when I bought her down here.
Delta was a little 'tail uppity' towards Mindy, but she soon stopped when I got Mindy to give her some space, and we all spent a lovely half hour outside together, playing and me taking photos :)

Oligatory posed shot! Mindy would no way have been able to sit with all these dogs with me having treats around them before. She has come SO far with regards to her food gaurding. :)

Totally in sync!

The nieghbours had been (annoyingly) looking after a pet rabbit for 2 weeks, which in turn meant I had been keeping a VERY close eye on Mindy whilst she was in the garden!
Last year when they looked after it,they didn't warn me,and Mindy jumped the fence, and was racing up and down its run, trying desperatly to break in !! It took me what seemed like AGES to call her off,it was probably around 2 minutes, but I did have to really yell at her to break into her 'I need to kill' frame of mind.
Lurchers are outstanding hunting dogs, and many rescue Lurchers were once working (hunting) dogs.

I am happy to report that I had no fence jumping from Mindy this year, but that wasn't because she didn't want to,rather that she thought she had better not!She did chew herself a little hole in the hedge so she could keep an eye on it,the little witch!

Oh and everybody had baths on Monday eve,see how they shine :)

'Come on little birdie, get down from that tree and come to me!'

Shiney, shiney :) I must bath them more often, they're so huggable when they smell so good :)

'Nom,nom,nom!'

It was early in the morning here,so Mookie and Mindy were trying to warm up,they're like lizards haha.

This photo cracks me up.
It is a study in dog body language.
Mindy had the ball and had dropped it,she was looking at Shady out of the corner of her eye,to make sure he didn't take the ball before she wanted him too.
Shady though like Mindy it doesn't look like it,is keeping an eye on Mindy to see when she gives the ball some distance so he then knows he can have it,he's turning slightly away from her to keep her happy....oh the subtleties on caning conversations....
Then out of nowhere, and not being part of the conversation Mookie says.....'Fuck it,I'm having the ball!!!'

Shady's coat is really coming back now.His coat looks a bit wild cos he was bathed but not dried, and you can see his man mane is the last bit to grow back,so his neck looks too small for his body!

Floozie....'back off biotch,I gots my eye on you!!'

Shady sure got his man knickers back ;)

3 Shepherds!

3 Sheperds and a Mookie!

'Play with me!!!' This dog is SO cute and playful :)

When I go in the shed, where the dog food is kept,I am closely supervised!!

After blade and Delta had left for home,I took Shady, followed by Mookie out the front for a game of frisbee,as I'd just rediscovered the frisbee in the cupboard!
Shady loves to retrieve  L O  V E S  it :) He's not too good at catching though!

We were somewhat rudely interupted by a neighbours dog,Theo a Great Dane x.
Theo used to board at the kennels I work at,and I know he is a sociable boy,so I was happy for Theo to stay whilst we played.
Shady is just brilliant with other dogs,as with all my dogs he knows exactly how to handle other dogs.

Poor Theo is the same age as Shady, but looks, acts and probably feel twice as old as Shadders :(

'I'll be your friend, but you're not having my frisbee, got it?!'

Next I bought Mookie out for a game.Poor Theo tried to keep up with her and it nearly killed him!!
His mum took him in to rest ha ha.

Mooks would make a brilliant frisbee dog :)

I finished the day in the usual way,on my laptop, trying to keep Shady off it as he likes to snuggle in real close!!

2 dog afternoon...

Shady Mooks and I went to my local pet superstores 20th anniversary open day last Sunday.
Shady and Mooks were absolute superstars, and we had a really fun afternoon!
Their were Huskies there giving rides, and raising money for charity, they were my favourite part of the day.

 'Yowl,yowl,yowl!!I'm in a harness,not let me run!!!'

What an amazing looking dog.I just LOVE Huskies, inside and out :)

Rogue,a 9 month old puppy.

When Mookie dies, she is going to aisle 2 in Partners....that would be her representaion of heaven!!The treat aisle!! :O)

Huge Poms....if you look closely you can see the girl on the left has a cupcake in her mouth hehehehe!!

Shadders saw the pool as just a huge water bowl :)

SBT crew.It really saddens me when people have put so little training into their dogs, that they can't even get them to sit when they are on the lead :(

 David Bowie eyes!

Bullie and Bullie SBT...

We had a mooch about inside too,Mookie is an expert at getting under the shelves to get her greedy little mitts on any biscuits which have been dropped and ended up down there!Shady is posing in front of his portrait on the wall, along with my other photo of Sixx the Collie on the left.
I'm really proud that my photos are up in there :)

Here we are :)

So here I am trying to catch up.Life has been hectic over the past month or so.
I've moved out of the house I shared with Pete, unfortunatly I've had to go back to my mum's,but l realise I am lucky to have somewhere to go too, lots of people don't.
I've taken Shady and the 3 girls with me,and Bug has stayed with Pete.
Bug has always been Pete's dog,and it was always agreed that if ever we split,Bug would stay with him.
I do go up and see Bug and walk him if Pete has left him for the whole working day.
The ferrets have had to stay there too,my mum will not let me bring any here :(

Still it is not as bad as I had feared being here, and the dogs are loving it as its here I do my work (grooming),so they always get to come to work with me.
I hope to catch up over the next week or so,I have lots of photos to post :)

One of my last play sessions at the old house.

 Thoughtful Mindy..

 Playful Mindy!

See her tag? hehehe

I LOVE this photo, the girls are all like 'where's the ball where's the ball????' Shady's like 'bwahahahahaa!!'

Smiley girls on a bright sunny day :)

I love walking in the country at this time of year, this is the field next to the kennels.

A little Skyla thrown in cos she's beautiful!!

These are the last photos taken at my old house, now 'Pete's house'.Mookie and Mindy seriously just LOVE the sprinkler,I left it on for an hour and they played non stop.Mookie gets some nice air with the sprinkler :)
Flooz is not mad for it,but will join in for a bit.
Seems like my dogs whose prey drive I've really channeled 100% onto toys ignore the 'prey' they find which don't involve me,like real prey, and water.
Mookie and Mindy haven't had it channeled so much and are definitly more into finding their own prey,I wonder if that is why?

Little Taz is HORRIFIED if he gets wet!

Shady herded my mum into the water,I love how hard my sister is laughing in the background!!

I'm a bad blogger.......

Its been ages since I wrote last, but so much has been going on I just haven't had time.
So I'll just quickly post Floozie's first clear round vid :)

I have a ton of photos to upload, but having just moved home to momma's,ala into a 1970's time warp with no internet,I am a waiting the web to reach me there,so it may be a few days till I can post them here, then it will be back to usual :)

Summer lovin'....or lovin' summer!

I have had no time at all for blogging lately.
Since I split up with Pete,I have a new found enthusiasm for everything, and have been busy, busy, busy.
I'm really trying to make the most of summer, even though the weather hasn't been great.
Its the hours of daylight I'm trying to cherish, they'll soon be gone.

I've been running the 4 dogs each morning, practicing flyball with Shady,he's really coming along good with my little ghetto set up lol.
Mooks me and Flooz have been agility-ing,and we have a show the weekend after next, which I am SOOO excited about....Floozie's 4th first show, lets hope we actually get to compete this time.:~

Poor B continues to be mildly lame, only for the first few steps upon waking,or being inactive,we are waiting for an appointment with an orthopedic specialist now. He's having 2 x 20 mins walks per day,but I feel sad that he's unable to play the days away with Mindy likes he did the last 2 summers :(

So the more I have to do in real life, the less I spend on the computer, which I can only think is a good thing.....I try and live by the rule of wether or not something would bother me on my death bed......I'm quite certain as I lay there taking my last breaths I won't be thinking 'Damn,I really wish I spent more time sitting inside on my computer'!! ;)
